| Pre-Service Training |
| The Arizona CASA Program requires all new CASA volunteer applicants to complete 30 hours of training before being assigned to a child's case. The training is divided into three parts with the goal of preparing a volunteer to be a thorough, effective, and autonomous child advocate. The Harris-Price case study is used as a learning tool throughout this training. |

• Part 1: Getting Started
Getting Started provides an introduction to the CASA volunteer role and program as well as an overview of the challenges faced by children and families in foster care. Resource

• Part 2: Advocacy Academy
Advocacy Academy is a two-day in-person training that provides an in-depth view of the primary systems and challenges CASA volunteers will encounter. Resource

• Part 3: Beyond the Basics
Beyond the Basics expands a CASA volunteer's understanding of their role and introduces the local resources which will assist CASAs in their advocacy work. Resource

• Harris-Price Case Study
The Harris-Price case study will be used during all three parts of pre-service training. Please be sure you are familiar with the story and characters. Document

| In-Service Training |
| The Arizona CASA Program requires all active CASA volunteers to complete a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education each calendar year to stay abreast of new information, services and legislation. In-service training can include attending events in person or completing activities independently. |

• Online Training Modules from the Arizona CASA Program
Eighteen online training modules which cover a diverse array of child welfare topics and are available in 4 different formats, including MP3 files. All learners have an option of completing an online exam to qualify for training credit. Resource
