Overview

The Parent Assistance Hotline (PAH) provides information to parents or guardians to broaden their understanding of the process of the removal of a child from their home.  PAH staff address several topics with callers including:

  • The legal rights of parents and guardians, including the right to attend court and foster care review board
    hearings;

  • The child’s legal rights;

  • The means for accessing personnel who can provide information on a variety of topics including the well-being of the child and various community resources that may be of benefit.

  • The procedures for attorney assignment.

The goal of the Hotline staff is to provide accurate information, education, and referrals enabling parents and caretakers to work more effectively within their family unit.
