| The Certification and
Licensing Division develops and administers certification and
licensing programs for the Arizona Supreme Court. Division staff develop
rules and policies including registration processes, qualification
requirements, training, continuing education, codes of conduct, and
disciplinary processes. The division consists of the following units and
programs: |
The Admissions Unit implements procedures
that are required of law school graduates to become certified to practice law in
Arizona. The staff supports two Supreme Court committees -- Committee on
Examinations and Committee on Character and Fitness. See the most recent Arizona
Bar Examination results online.
The Confidential Intermediary Program helps reunite families separated by adoption. The Program is administered by the Arizona Supreme Court and applies to adoptions that have been finalized in the
state of Arizona. The court provides training to ensure that intermediaries are educated about the search process and the law, and that they are sensitive to the needs of adoptive parents, adoptees, birth parents and other parties using their services. The court certifies intermediaries, provides monitoring and on-going education to
ensure the quality of its services.
The Certified Reporter Program certifies court reporters in Arizona
who are subject to certification (as defined in the Rules and
by Arizona law).
The Defensive Driving School
Information web site is for individuals who have received a traffic citation
and wish to have the citation dismissed through the completion of a class.
The Defensive Driving Program is
a court-administered program which presents traffic safety classes through court
certified commercial schools. It provides Court, Defensive Driving Board
and Certification information.
The Disciplinary Clerk's Unit maintains all
files in formal discipline, disability, and reinstatement proceedings. The unit
also trains and supports Hearing Officers and the Disciplinary Commission.
The Fiduciary Certification Program is designed to help ensure
that Arizona's elderly, mentally incapacitated, and other vulnerable citizens have trained and certified individuals managing their financial affairs, medical decisions and other vital matters.
The Legal Document Preparer Program certifies legal document preparers in Arizona. Legal Document Preparers are certified individuals who prepare or provide legal documents without the supervision of an attorney. Legal Document Preparers may provide general legal information but may not give legal advice.
The Private Process Server Program develops rules and licensing procedures administered by the Arizona Clerks of Superior Court. The program also governs the registration of private process servers pursuant to the Arizona Revised Statutes and the Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure.
